UT 712L AHTS Reactivation Programme – Oceanicasub XIV & XV

Oceanicasub XIV and Oceanicasub XV originated from sister UT 712L anchor handling tug supply vessels acquired for Oceanica's expanding subsea support fleet. Both vessels were reactivated from lay-up, underwent class renewals and drydocking, and received Oceanica-specific modifications before joining operations in Brazil. Tschudi Ship Management supported the projects through vessel reactivation, technical supervision, regulatory transition and operational readiness activities.

One design, one reactivation concept

Formerly known as Far Sound and Far Scimitar, both vessels followed a near-identical path. Following lay-up in Batam, the vessels were prepared for reactivation and subsequently towed to Singapore for name changes, class renewals, drydocking and implementation of Oceanica's subsea support modifications. The conversion concept was developed by Marin Teknikk Norway and adapted to Oceanica's operational requirements.

Together, Oceanicasub XIV and XV formed the next stage of Oceanica's fleet expansion programme, transforming two laid-up UT 712L vessels into active offshore support assets for subsea operations in Brazilian waters.
