Project description
BLUEFORT - Ro-Pax to Accommodation Vessel Conversion for Bridgmans Services Group
Bluefort joined Tschudi Ship Management's fleet in 2017, taken over mid-conversion from another manager who had begun her rebuild in Naples in 2015. With charter commencement approaching, TSM completed the remaining conversion works in Tallinn within a two-month window, delivering the vessel ready for accommodation service.
Completing a partially converted vessel under schedule pressure
By the time she reached Tallinn, Bluefort had already lost her 50-tonne crane and a non-functioning walk-to-work bridge from the earler phase of conversion in Naples. Completing her within two months meant prioritizing the structural and stability work that mattered most for her new role.
The remaining scope of work included:
- Installation of a new aft boat landing for offshore personnel transfer
- Installation of a 100-tonne flume tank to improve vessel stability
- Sponson and ballast-tank modifications supporting accommodation-vessel operations
The completed modifications enabled Bluefort to enter accommodation service and established many of the operational concepts later developed further across Bridgemans' accommodation vessel fleet.
