Tschudi Ship Management took over MEGA X on 2 January 2026, following her delivery to the lay-by berth in Naples and completion of pre-purchase inspections and formalities. The team embarked immediately, initiating a planned intermediate dry-docking at Cantieri del Mediterraneo from 5–20 January 2026, while managing crew mobilisation and replacement needs raised by the Owners.
A fast turnaround, coordinated across multiple regulatory bodies
Takeover, dry-docking, and full regulatory coordination — spanning class, ISM/ISPS/MLC, P&I, and insurance-related inspections — all had to come together within weeks, ahead of her first project in Mozambique starting February 2026.
Technical scope:
- Reactivation from lay-up and intermediate dry-docking
- Reflagging and name-change procedures
- Coordination of class, flag state, ISM/ISPS/MLC, P&I and insurance inspections
- Boat landing installation and access modifications
- Cabin refurbishment and accommodation upgrades
- Sewage treatment plant rebuild and utility-system upgrades
- Renewal of critical freshwater, fire and technical piping systems
- Capacity conversion and project-specific accommodation preparation
