Recognising Excellence at Sea
Operationally sound vessels run on crews who take responsibility, support one another and approach safety and professionalism as part of everyday work. These are our crews.
At Tschudi Ship Management, we believe in long, strong relationships and work hard to maintain this mutual belief. We recruit, manage and support our crews with this very principle in mind and can thus enjoy a consistently high retention rate(proud 90%) across the fleet.
To acknowledge those who make a clear and sustained contribution onboard, our Crew Department has introduced two internal honours: Seafarer of the Year and Safety Champion Award.
The process started onboard. Crew members were invited to nominate colleagues they believe stand out through their conduct, teamwork and contribution to the vessel and the participation was vivid, including all positions. From these nominations, a shortlist of candidates was formed and later confirmed with the office team, ensuring that both onboard experience and shore‑side perspective were reflected in the final line‑up.
The aim of the initiative is simple: to recognise our people whom we trust and appreciate. As we say, our crews are able to master all latitudes andattitudes.
Seafarer of the Year

Recognition of Runner‑Ups
In addition to the award recipients, several nominated crew members were recognised as runner‑ups and the competition was tight. While only one recipient is selected for each award, these nominations underline the high standard maintained across our crews and the respect and recognition crewmembers have for one another’s work.
We are proud of all our seafarers and grateful for the professionalism they bring to our vessels every day. These awards are a way of acknowledging that contribution - a sincere thank you to everyone who keeps our vessels safe, reliable and well managed.
