Job description
- Management of the ship's technical maintenance, implementing policies and procedures for ship operations and maintenance, monitoring and reporting on ship performance
- Planning and supervision of dry-docks, major repairs, and ship conversions, overseeing maintenance
- Conducting regular inspections of the vessel to ensure that it is operating safely and efficiently
- Providing technical support and guidance to ship captains and other crew members
- Preparation, supervision, and reporting of the ship's yearly budget, in cooperation with shipboard management
- Communication with classification societies; keeping abreast of industry regulations and ensuring that the ship under your supervision is in compliance with the regulations
- Coordination of ship's crews in cooperation with the Crew Department, and suppliers, to ensure that the vessel is properly staffed and supplied
- Communication with ship owners and their representatives
- Active participation in the SHE-Q culture within the Company
Requirements
- Previous experience on board as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer
- Fluent English (both written and verbal), Estonian and Russian on communication level is a strong plus
- Good communication skills, conscientiousness, ability to organize
- Responsible and teamwork-oriented
- Confident decision-maker, able to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Flexible, proactive, and ready to travel globally at short notice
