Technical Superintendent

We’re looking for a skilled and independent Technical Superintendent to our Tallinn office to oversee the performance of our managed fleet.

At the core of every well-managed vessel is a Superintendent who combines technical expertise with clear, decisive leadership.

You shall play a pivotal role in our company, being responsible for ensuring safe, efficient operations that meet the expectationsof owners, authorities, and crew alike.

It requires a solid technical background, sound judgement, and the ability to coordinate people, budgets, and information across timezones.

Job description

  • Management of the ship's technical maintenance, implementing policies and procedures for ship operations and maintenance, monitoring and reporting on ship performance
  • Planning and supervision of dry-docks, major repairs, and ship conversions, overseeing maintenance
  • Conducting regular inspections of the vessel to ensure that it is operating safely and efficiently
  • Providing technical support and guidance to ship captains and other crew members
  • Preparation, supervision, and reporting of the ship's yearly budget, in cooperation with shipboard management
  • Communication with classification societies; keeping abreast of industry regulations and ensuring that the ship under your supervision is in compliance with the regulations
  • Coordination of ship's crews in cooperation with the Crew Department, and suppliers, to ensure that the vessel is properly staffed and supplied
  • Communication with ship owners and their representatives
  • Active participation in the SHE-Q culture within the Company

Requirements

  • Previous experience on board as Chief Engineer or previous work as Technical Superintendent
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Estonian and Russian a valid plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident in decision-making and proactive problem-solving
  • Willing to travel globally at short notice
  • Residing in Estonia or willing to relocate
